Al Freish Lake: Sharjah approves major Kalba project with 200 parking spaces
New waterfront destination will feature trees, waterfalls and walking areas
SHARJAH – His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved the plan for Al Freish Lake in Kalba.
The project will cover approximately 51,200 square metres and have a water storage capacity of up to 28 million gallons. It will also include 200 parking spaces for visitors.
The approval forms part of development projects being carried out in Kalba, with the new lake planned behind Al Marsh Square. Sheikh Sultan said work is progressing on the project, which is approximately 750 metres long and is being developed as a recreational destination for families and visitors.

According to Sheikh Sultan, Al Freish Lake is being designed as a pleasant park for children, with features similar to the Al Rafisah Dam project.
Trees are currently being planted on the mountain surrounding the area, adding to the natural setting of the development. Waterfalls are also planned among the trees, with the water flowing towards the sea.
The project will provide visitors with parking facilities and areas where they can leave their vehicles, walk and spend time enjoying the surroundings.
With a planned storage capacity of up to 28 million gallons, the lake will form a major part of the wider development in the area. Its approximately 51,200-square-metre footprint will combine the water feature with landscaped and recreational spaces.
The 200 parking spaces are intended to support visitor access, while the walking areas, mountain greenery and waterfalls will create a setting for outdoor activities.
Sheikh Sultan described the project as part of ongoing efforts to develop Kalba and provide residents and visitors with new spaces for recreation and leisure.
